On May 21, 2025, ARE officially handed over three titles to Ituri Energy: two generation licenses of 1 MWp each for the Aru and Mahagi sites, and a distribution concession for Aru site.
Receiving these precious documents from ARE Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sandrine Mubenga Ngalula, Ituri Energy representative Anna Urochi Papani expressed her satisfaction to the press: “Today is a historic day. Thanks to the authorizations received today, our project is officially moving into its development phase, and the entire population of Mahagi, Aru and Ariwara will benefit,
It is with great pride, she added, that I speak on behalf of Ituri Energy, a company committed to the electrification of our province, Ituri.
Addressing the ARE CEO, the Ituri Energy representative said, by way of thanks: “We express our gratitude to ARE, and particularly to you, Chief Executive Officer of ARE Dr. Sandrine Mubenga, for the professionalism and speed with which our file was handled.
Finally,” she continued, ”we would like the ARE’s support in facilitating the rapid delivery of documents to the competent Authority, so that work can start without delay.
With the Ituri Energy project, nearly 6,000 households will benefit from electricity by the end of the project, scheduled for the end of 2026, not to mention numerous small and medium-sized businesses.
MYHYDRO project update
The Chief Executive Officer of ARE Prof. Dr. Sandrine Mubenga Ngalula met with Mr. Mwanza Hamisi Singoma, one of the partners in Myhydro. Mr. Singoma presented the progress of their project in Kasaï Oriental, where they have obtained a concession to produce electricity.
